Let me tell you some useful things
That I’ve picked up on my hard way
And from good sense of entrepreneurship.
Being in a predicament,
Try to stay afloat by selling your roof,
But taking up money,
It’s best to buy assets and farmlands.
When in crisis,
Sell to those who’re wealthy and rich;
But once you're out of it,
Sell wherever you head.
When your belly is empty,
There is no sense to run about;
To have a place where you can
Lay down your head,
You have to work hard and grind out
Without a minute of rest in your mind.
These words of mine,
To make them serve for all men's eyes,
Should be written in large
And hung up on the eastern side of the sun
To warn everyone
That the sunset is not far off.
One who doesn’t waste one’s time
Can be well on the way to fortune,
Reaching it even before sunset
And that’s the whole notion.
Your poem seems to be another way of saying, "We'd better make hay while the sun shines," or, "We're burning daylight here."
