Depicted here the outer ring numbers of Magic Square of Three, also known as the Actual or Post-birth arrangement, consists of: (1) Profit driving motive (Water); (2) Planning (Earth); (3) Foreknowledge (Thunder); (4) Initiative (Wind); (5) Total or Eternal Survival (Centre); (6) Ingenuity (Heaven); (7) Secrecy (Lake); (8) Changeability (Mountain); and (9) Quickness (Fire). On the face of it, these nine principle spaces look simple, but once you are able to coordinate and combine them into action through the Centre, their synergistic mighty effect increases tremendously. Thus, the profit driving motive (1) correlates with quickness (9) to total the topmost number ten; Planning (2) correlates with Changeability (8), Foreknowledge (3) with Secrecy (7), Initiative (4) with Ingenuity (6) and Total survival (5) with itself to be perfectly appropriate to every situation.
Let's take a look at this diagram through the prism of the subject of our interest, the method of stepping out of the birth-and-death circuit, which is the top priority of any positive activity.

Poem Artwork

Depicted here diagram is a visual method

Of one of the thirty-six possible efforts

Of getting out of the birth-and-death circle.

It is easy to notice that the number five

In the very centre is surrounded by

The sums of ten appeared in all directions.

At that, the sums of the paired numbers

In either the cardinal or diagonal axes

Are all 15 of the Magic Square's effect.

If the numbers 8 and 2, which are placed

On the axis of Generation (Earth),

Are the subject of switching, then the numbers

In the ordinal sequence will be 1, 2, 3 and 4

Run in the clockwise direction while 6, 7, 8

And 9 in the counter-clockwise course

To make the dollar-shape line of the Actual

Or Post-birth arrangement opposed

To the Ideal or Pre-birth sequence, which

Appears like the reversed dollar-shape line

(When 1, 2, 3, 4 run in the counter-clockwise

But 6, 7, 8 and 9 in the clockwise directions).

Thus, the key of using the numbers

Of the Post-birth order (see the diagram)

Lies in switching the numbers 8 and 2 which

Play the role of the so-called Mobius Band

Also known as the Karmic Loop's effect

Consisted of two triangles roundly faced each other

At the command post of the ruling number (5)

Also known as the Total or Eternal Survival,

The ancient graph of which resembles the Latin X

And depicts two triangles, one above another,

The picture of the outer Heaven and inner Earth.

Due to the mobius strip, one can travel

From inside outward to come smoothly back

With no significant obstacles in the way.

As we can see, the principal difference

Between the Ideal or Pre-birth sequence

Of the eight figures and that of the Actual

Or Post-birth order of things consists

In the opposing way of their orientations.

If the Ideal dollar-shape arrangement

Draws the 8-2 diagonal of Generation (Earth),

The Actual one threads the 6-4 diagonal

Of Completeness and Destruction (Heaven)

To intersect at the Centre represented

By the ruling number five, the archaic shape

Of which reminds us the graph 'yao' (爻),

The symbol of repeated manipulations

In the fashion of a highly skilled juggler.

Since there are two opposite directions

Represented by two opposing arrangements,

The graph 'yao' (爻) is also represented

By two crosses or two fives. Essentially,

The ultimate aim of the Pre-birth arrangement

Is to charge with the axis of Generation (Birth)

While the Post-birth's with Destruction (Death).

Since the Ideal sequence reveals all phenomena

Of the universal regeneration and reformation,

The Actual order explores the way of changing

And transformation of all things within the frame

Of the mundane world through their completeness

And decease. As we know, without destruction

There is nothing new to come out; for applying this

To our life, the Actual stuff is in preference so far.

To cut the long story short, in order to get out

Of the mentioned here beautiful 'circle dancing'

Of birth-and-death the most appropriate method

Is to take a proper place in the Centre from where

One can run the ring of a myriad things in the world.

To reach this central place, one's mind should function

Like a computer used for storage, reading, regulating,

Arithmetic operating, encoding and many other things

While one's body has to move like that of an acrobat

Well trained in facing at the same time all ten directions.

So, once you take the central place of your body and mind,

You become free from turbulences of any possible on earth

Arrangements that could disturb you in the anticipated

Clockwise (death) or in the reversed counter-clockwise (birth)

Alternative sequence, placing your good self in the realm

Of Perfection, also termed the Void of Selfness, which

Can be found deeply inside, but never in the outer space.

Escaping the circle of suffering is perhaps the most difficult thing of all, "to take the proper place in the Center from where one can run the ring of a myriad things in the world." Easier said than done. John
