EXCERPT FROM THE BOOK VICTOR AND THE SUN ORB:

"That's settled then," said Queen Magenta. "Now here's my gift to the most obedient son in Amoretto Kingdom." She opened her right hand, palm up. From it emerged a little feathered figure with brown back and spotted breast.

"Wow! What kind of bird is that?"

"A thrush," said Queen Magenta. She winked at the bird and he began to sing:

Your eigth birthday you celebrate today,
I come as a gift to make you happy and gay,
My queen called me from far and away,
To keep you company on this merry day.

I am your friend and great spy,
I bring you tidings from far and wide,
No matter what I come to abide,
I will stand as your trusted guide.

So please, my prince, please accept me,
And I promise you'll have fun with me,
Come let's play and sing with me,
For today is your special day.

Mmmm...this is wonderful! The thrush is the one that sounds like a magical flute in the forest...that has to be my favorite bird.
Be well,
Christine
