Hit or Miss? © - Tom Hyland - 12-03-08 What is a Hit? Someone Visits - That’s It! What is a Miss? No one Visits - A Deep Abyss! What is a Review? Someone Comments - Maybe a Word or Two? What is a Ratio? Something Divided by Something - Let’s take a Look-See-O! What is an Average? Same Thing - A Good One gives Leverage! What is a Percentage? A Ratio, or Average - Expressed as a %, or Decimal. Let’s have some Fun! We’ll Just Do a Few - Here’s the First One: Number of Hits = 350,751. Divided by Number of Titles - 364. Average Number of Hits Per Title = 963. Number of Reviews = 1,408. Divided by Number of Titles - 364. Average Number of Reviews Per Title = 3.86 Those Two Answers Were Whole Numbers, Because a Larger Number was Divided by a Smaller Number, But the Fractions Were Ratios. Now, let us Reverse a Few - Number of Titles - 364. Divided by Number of Hits - 350,751. Percentage of Titles Per Hit = .00103 - Or - .1% - about 1/10th of One Percent. Yeah, I Know - Not Too Impressive! Number of Titles - 364. Divided by Number of Reviews - 1,408. Percentage of Titles Per Review = .2585 - Or - 25.8 % - 26% Rounded. Number of Reviews - 1,408. Divided by Number of Hits - 350,751. Percentage of Reviews Per Hit = .0040 - Or - .4% - 4/10ths of One Percent. Yeah - That Sucks Too! So - What’s With All this Math? Just a Meager Attempt to Cause Thought! To Lead You Down The Path! With the Sheer Passage of Time, All Your Numbers Will Increase - The More Time, The More Titles, The More Titles, The More Hits, The More Hits, The More Reviews! But - Let Me Tell You - Bub - The Increasing Ratios Are What Counts - There Lies the Rub! But - What About Money? You May Ask! There Ain’t None, Honey! So - Don’t Mask The Task! But - What About Money?
You May Ask!
There Ain’t None, Honey!
So - Don’t Mask The Task!

There ain't none, for sure. As for reviews, over half the people who track me, never leave a review. I often wonder if they are government spies!

And A.D. surely ain't what it used to be - lots of folks have departed - and many of the humor writers have - I sure miss them.
