Without Cheating, or making up words, i was able to complete the whole alphabet, using the Encarta Thesaurus in WORD.

A manmade metal alloy - Aluminum -
Stuff used to take pics of your innards - Barium -
Space - Time link - Continuum -

Matlack’s Disease - Delirium!
A large store - Emporium -
The opposite of fiddle-de-dee - Fiddle-de-dum!
An asexual reproductive cell in algae - Gonidium -

Gas that makes you talk funny - Helium -
Place where the Topless Towers were - Ilium -
A large drinking bowl - Jorum -
A large copper percussion instrument - Kettledrum -

A compound used for manic-depressive disorders - Lithium -
Dirty Harry’s weapon of choice - 357 Magnum!
An edible plant with showy flowers - Nasturtium -
The reason for the war in Afghanistan - Opium!

The other part of Poe’s “Pit” - Pendulum -
A fixed minimum of members - Quorum -
An element in pitchblende and carnotite - Radium -
Christian church’s sanctuary - Sacrarium -

A dense blue-gray metallic element - Tantalum -
The heaviest chemical element - Ununquadium -
To clean using a sucking machine - Vacuum -
Indian money - Wampum -

The third segment of the breastbone - Xiphisternum -
A soft silvery earth metal element - Ytterbium -
A grayish-white metallic chemical element - Zirconium -
