How do I know about such CRAP? I worked for a Consulting Engineering Firm for almost Eleven Years! I watched Millionaire Partners become Multi-Millionaire Partners - IT IS BIG BUSINESS!
Every Roadway, Every Bridge, Every Tunnel, Every Airport, Every Shopping Mall, Every Major Consruction Site, Every Item - that will have Any Impact on Traffic Flow - in Every State in The Union - is DESIGNED by an Engineering Firm!
BIG BUCKS! BIG LOBBY! BIG BOWL OF CRAP!

From ‘The FEDS’ to the States -
Supposedly to - Rebuild the Super-Structure of -
Old Roads and Bridges - Right?
Supposedly to - Create JOBS - Right?
Don’t know about you, but Here, in -
‘The Old-Line State’ - Or - ‘The Free State’ -
It just - Ain’t Happening!
Oh - to be Sure - Money is Pouring into Other Stuff -
Like - Tearing up existing Concrete Medians -
That have Nothing Wrong with Them -
And - Re-Doing them - Higher and Wider!
And - Building New Un-Necessary Medians -
And - other Barriers -To Obstruct Traffic -
And - Planting High Bushes and Shrubs -
To Eliminate Prior Good Vision!
And Disrupting Traffic by Building -
Un-necessary Sidewalks and Curbs -
Along large Commercial Areas -
Where No One Ever Walks!
I have not seen Any New Work being Done -
On Any Old Dilapidated Bridges Yet -
But - Plenty of Mexican Road Crews -
You know - Imported Green-Card Aliens!
Oh - I’m Sorry - maybe That’s the New Jobs -
For American Citizens - Huh?
Could I possibly be - Prejudiced - or Biased?
Or - Maybe just - Honest, and Observant?
Back to the Fixing of Old Bridges -
Why possibly such a long Delay?
Well - Before you can Hire people to do Construction -
You must First - ‘Pay The Piper’!
That is - Millions and Millions of those Dollars -
Must be Paid Out First - to Consulting Engineering Firms.
Existing employees must - Study, Inspect, Analyze, and Design -
What Needs to be done - Before Anyone can Actually DO Anything!
By the time that the Feds, State, City, and Counties -
Go through the Bidding Process, Pick a Winner -
Grant the Contracts, have Celebration Parties -
And then - actually Begin Construction - the Money will be GONE!
Not to Worry - We Dummies - will employ more Apathy -
To Allow More Crooked Politicians Appropriate More Billions -
That’s how ‘The System’ Works!
But - What about New Jobs? - You may Ask ...
Oh - Eventually there will be Plenty -
Customer Service, Tech Support, ITS Help Desks -
E-mail Correspondence, Plum Pulling-Outing, and Bean-Counting -
ALL - OVERSEAS!
