Agree completely......beliefs must constantly be re-scrutinizsed and challenged. There is no such thing as "faith" in a proven fact. Faith comes when you look at something that can't be empirically proven and choose to believe in it anyway.

We've already passed 7 Billion my friend, and we're now rapidly on our way to 10 Billion hungry, thirsty, fuel greedy human beings. I, for one, doubt very seriously that good old Mom Earth will be able to sustain 10 Billion for very long.
As for our massive Pet Overpopulation Problem, there's very sadly nothing unconscious about it at all. Far too many people still consciously refuse to spay and neuter their own pets; they still consciously and very callously allow these non spayed or neutered pets to roam around outdoors, impregnating countless other homeless pets, and the numbers keep on horridly rising. Just about every starving homeless pet that our little Muttley Crew rescues these days, is not spayed or neutered, and sadly, many of the females are pregnant.
And America's Atrocious Puppy Mills still continue to mass produce more and more pets, to make more and more money - and far too many people continue to consciously support these extremely greedy breeders, and continue to purchase their extremely expensive animals. And when people tire of these 'pedigree' pets, they, too, end up starving out on the street, or being dumped in an overflowing shelter.
