Sitting quietly at my desk

Having just finished breakfast

With my cup of coffee.

Still not quite awake

As I start to read the emails

And on line newspapers.

It is a beautiful sunny day,

Cat’s in the window

Right by my desk.

There is a gentle breeze

And the city is fairly quiet

As many people finish up their week

A day early in preparation

For their July vacations.

All in all it is a very nice

Summers day when

All of a sudden there is

A CRASH, BANG, BOOM

And apple tree branches

Flopping about wildly

And a cat flying through

The air like his tail is on fire….

What the hell?????  Did one

Of those low flying planes

Coming in for a landing

Finally clip the roof???

Nope, it is just the

Spouse thingy leaning

A little too hard on the

Air conditioner in his

Office window….

Yup….CRASH, BANG, BOOM

And it is back to a fan

For his office this summer,

and I am really awake....
