The Edge of the Sea

Poem Artwork

Melt into the warm soft diamond sand.
Hear the thunderous sea upon the shore.
Feel the rumble of waves that roil and foam,
cleansing all the burdens that we bore.

Warmth of fiery sun envelops mind,
seeps into the chambers of the soul.
Heart expands to meet the soaring  'gulls,
and leaps to ride the ocean as it rolls.

The breeze caresses like a languid lover,
lingering on your skin, and will not leave.
The ocean bears a gift - exquisite seashell,
and whispers as its magic it does weave.

A body can renew from salt-sun breezes;
a mind can clarify and feel what's true ;
a heart can find its pathway to the stars;
a soul can be alone and not feel blue.

The ebb and flow of tide is like a heartbeat;
the spray of waves refresh the battered mind.
The seashells promise wisdom and renewal;
here peace and tranquil moments one may find.

The sound of the ocean's footprints on the soul -
Here one can fill their cup, and make it whole.

If only this were true for me. The very deep, and dark Nova sized hole in my soul, is for all eternity, and can never be filled. Ever. Very good write though Joyce. May the Lord Jesus bless you and yours, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little den sister, Barbie

I could hear the peaceful waves as they rolled upon the sand. Gave me a sense of relaxation. Well done Joyce. Lisa
