Be the flame, or get burned.

Burned

It was all me wasn’t it?
Oh I got from you the combustible materials
With which I set myself on fire,
But only because I hoped seeing me
You would enter in to that blaze
And become one with me
The only way two people can...
By shedding in ashes all that could keep us apart
And allowing the seething heat
To meld us in to a new creation.
It was your choice to stand back and toast marshmallows,
Making me useful for a pleasant evening.
I’ll be glad to always give you warmth,
But now you wonder why I have become white hot
And you must stand so much farther back
And shield your face from mine.
How long did you think such a blaze would go
Unnoticed by somebody who understands
The greater purpose of fire?
What happened to me now?
She’s here.
And if you feel burned just remember
We are all just living with the choices we have made.

Wow.. And if this fire can combine our souls.. Searing our love.. we will at once be whole.. Choices.

But only because I hoped seeing me
You would enter in to that blaze
And become one with me
The only way two people can...
By shedding in ashes all that could keep us apart
And allowing the seething heat
To meld us in to a new creation.
