Take Me

Take me friend, to where you have in mind.
Please let me leave my troubles all behind.
For you, by chance, reside in paradise.
If I could visit it would sure be nice.

The chance to ride your horses on the trails,
And even help to feed them from the bales.
To ride and fish, the scent of woodland pine,
Please take me there you precious friend of mine.

We’d ride and talk and knowing you we’d laugh.
The time would fly as if it’s cut in half.
Your off road quad I’d like to give a try.
You share all this, I’ll feel like I can fly.

It’s sounds so good, can summer be this grand?
But with such joy I also understand
I am a poet, something you should know.
I’m going to have to leave before the snow.

For I can’t bear the loss of such a friend,
But poets are unable to pretend,
And what we see, for us what is most real
Is all the love inside of us we feel.

On horses, falling snow and you and me-
That kind of beauty I just can not see.
It would become a cross I can’t endure
As I would fall in love with you for sure.

So let this be a summer to remember,
And let it last perhaps to mid November.
And I will pray but doubt I can believe
That maybe I won’t ever have to leave.
