It’s strange, in bleak dark hours I wish to die
And feel I should although I can’t say why,
Right in those moments-something comes my way

A “Thank you” that I never thought I’d see,
I give so much, for what could this one be?
Appreciation, yes, a grateful friend,
Perhaps it’s not quite time for life to end.
Then more and more- from some forgotten past
It seems my acts of kindness really last-
That maybe always doing what I should
Has more than I imagined, done some good.
