The story keeps saying,
“And the tree was happy.”
And each time I’ve lost more and more
I did feel happy in the process,
Until I saw the tears in the unhappy faces
That left me wounded
For reasons I will never understand.
Someday, can someone just climb
Into my arms and feel all this love?
Can someone please just be here,
See the world from where you are with me,
And be happy?
