You may write the sweetest words that anyone can dream.
You may weave a spell of love that makes me feel supreme.
You may glow with beauty that would bring men to their knees,
But you can’t be my soulmate if you don’t like cottage cheese.
You may dance with flowers in a garden of delight.
Pretty eyes may sparkle like the stars do through the night.
You may bask in colors like the brightest autumn trees,
But you can’t be my soulmate if you don’t like cottage cheese.
You may sing me love songs like the birds that grace the skies.
You may comfort children drying teardrops from their eyes.
You may touch me deeply in the ways you try to please,
But you can’t be my soulmate if you don’t like cottage cheese.
We may share such laughter that it seems we ought to be
Always two together as a couple, you and me.
We may look so perfect from what everybody sees,
But you can’t be my soulmate if you don’t like cottage cheese.
Sorry if it hurts you but for all that we may feel,
I’ve always known my soulmate has to share my favorite meal.
I’ve no choice but listen to my heart when it decrees
That you can’t be my soulmate if you don’t like cottage cheese.
I hate cottage cheese unless carefully disguised with many other tastes but I SO needed the gift of laughter you've given me tonight. Thanks, John. Hope you find your cottage cheese loving soulmate. :)
