And Now You Know

So now you know what happens when you drift apart from me-
Let voices that condemn you seem to have their victory-
Though pain can be your partner and a reason you may go-
Still love will be here waiting in my heart, and now you know.

For every time you’ve gone in to that place where you’re alone-
And I don’t know who’s crying, not with me- but on the phone-
There’s nothing I can do but pray in sadness here below-
But that is what I’ll always do for you, and now you know.

The love that should have been there since the time that you were young,
The still small voice of singing out a dream that went unsung-
This life is so unfair at times and truth can hurt us so-
But happiness is possible with me, and now you know.

Though love is a connection that will make it hurt me too-
To know that it was absent in so many ways for you,
It’s better late than never if you’ll please just let me show-
That all of it is here inside my heart, and now you know.

There are no easy answers, and I’m sorry for the pain-
But rainbows are what happen when you let sun hit the rain-
So one more time remember when you hold me how we glow-
For God has made this possible for us, and now you know.
