If There’s A Muse
If there’s a Muse, if give and take can bless
In sweet cooperation with no mess,
Just shared existence, how it all can feel-
With open arms- there is a way to heal.
You’re not alone- nor victim of some game,
And I’m no judge, but watching as you aim
To cheer you on for better or for worse-
A poet who will put his cheers in verse.
The kind of love that makes a friend your Muse-
Is one without the fear that you may lose-
As every line is written with such care
There is no doubt the love is always there.
This kind of friend you wish to celebrate
With every thought a poem that should not wait-
You hear the smile, the secret in their voice
That takes the time to help your heart rejoice.
The ups and downs, the battles all around
Don’t seem so bad when there’s a Muse I’ve found-
Another soul that seems to share my own
And leaves me feeling never quite alone.
