Anyone relate?

Stand Off

The love affair
Of butt and chair
Has kept me in at times I fear.
I should go out
And walk about
Instead I linger on my rear.

To motivate-
Yeah would be great
To get me out and walk somehow.
But I defer
It won’t occur-
I’m telling you at least for now.

Perhaps someone
Could get this done-
The cosmic goal of just a walk.
But when just me
The chair makes “we”
It’s not the same when I can’t talk.

And Facebook- God-
Isn’t it odd?
To waste our lives in this strange way?
To sit and drool
Like every fool
Has something we can’t miss today?

Alright- that’s it…
The pants don’t fit.
I’m out of here- so long- goodbye.
But why don’t you
Come walking too?
It’s something we at least should try.

After three weeks of drudgery, exercise, and dieting
I dropped one pound. And gained it back on day 22.

I am, too, much better at sitting than walking or even biking like I used to do only a few years ago. But walking with you North Jersey people could be quite crazy, as afterall, you are only the likes of a New Yorker, are you not...? :) -e-

A body in motion tends to remain in motion...............and all that. Yes, getting out there is the first step. Start walking! 'Enjoyed!

Love ya!

The invention of the La-Z-Boy rocker has done a disservice to the elderly. Along with many foods that go against healthy practice.

You have approached this subject with good humor and good advice. I am stuck in this chair, this electric chair, for 13 hours a day. I would love to get off my butt and go running again. and walking to slow the pace and smell the roses.

I am a jogger, but I do walk once a week as a break from the running routine, a two hour walk. I don't take a chair with me. Enjoyed your poem, however. John
