I wonder, can I tell you this?
The memory of your sweet kiss
Is something that I cherish everyday,
And if I spend my whole life through
Just thinking of the love we knew
I wouldn’t have it any other way.
To me it wasn’t long ago
You gave me all the joy I know,
All else is but an echo of the time
I really held you in my arms
So lost in all your special charms,
My heart believed it found the perfect rhyme.
Some things are just not meant to be,
And one of them is you and me...
At least that is the way it all appears.
But still- I have to wonder why
We never even said goodbye
And I have felt such longing through the years.
I wonder if the perfect past
Is hinting that this love will last
And someday I won’t just remember when
I loved you like the perfect dream...
If only Heaven has a scheme
To get us back together once again.
