Gone.

A faraway look with a light in my eyes,
A child in a carnival clutches his prize.
I’m kept like a secret, but not very well,
This thinking of you is a magical spell.

Please watch where I’m going, I’m not really there-
Just holding your hand and the sun in your hair.
We’re standing in line, is there something to buy?
I must have gone shopping, but please don’t ask why.

It isn’t your fault that you fill up my head.
I stop at the green and then go at the red.
And just never noticed my shoes were untied,
I’m lost with this wonderful feeling inside.

Most dreams are so fleeting, but you are still here.
So maybe there’s nothing that we have to fear
Except when I’m driving or mowing the lawn.
I’m always with you when I seem to be gone.

Now how did this happen? All roads lead to you,
All shortcuts and pathways or any way through.
And if I should stumble, just catch me and grin
Because all the time this is right where I’ve been.
