Why I Said I Love You

What did it mean- my heartfelt declaration?
Well let me try to put your mind at ease...
To free you from all anxious speculation
And show you that I only aim to please.

It means I want to live to bring you happiness.
That even though we must be far apart-
Just knowing you is making me so happy...this
Is why those words came flowing from my heart.

It means that I’m so captured by your sweetness
My heart cannot contain the things I feel,
A friendship that has given me completeness
Is what I’m hoping those three words reveal.

It means that we will always be connected,
That even though you turn to other men
There will be so much love at you directed,
Which means that I will say those words again.
