I would not trade the world’s great currency
For moments we exchanged in hours we spent
Negotiating dreams of what could be,
We had such love I wonder where it went.
My passions rose like averages of stock
With all that time invested in our love,
And when you left I bargained ‘round the clock,
But you said it’s just cash I’m thinking of.
The market crashed, I’ve lost your loving care
And now I sit here bankrupt and withdrawn,
But though it hurts I wouldn’t trade a share
Of what we had- I’m sorry that you’re gone.
I may not be the best of men, but honey,
How could you say I only think of money?
