It seems unreal, like some grand part assigned
An actor who ascends to take the stage
With all his best to share from heart and mind
Known well as if he'd written every page.
A starring role is this, to be your man,
From all who had auditioned for the part
I'll take the stage because I know I can,
The chosen one because I have the heart.
The heart whose lines were written just for you
To savor every word that makes this play
Reality of love between us two
That keeps on growing stronger every day.
Yet this is not an act that brings me here
Under the lights, the curtains open wide,
It is the truth as real as every tear
I've shed for you from what I feel inside.
Whatever else I know, I am this role...
This lover who adores with all his might,
The mate that was created for your soul
To know the love that no one else could write.
It has been said before, "The play's the thing,"
And "All the world's a stage," and yet for me
To live is to project this offering
In hope of what may one day come to be.
This was so lovely to read this morning, quite wonderful!
