Spilled

If people bump a honey jar,
It doesn’t matter who they are,
Some honey will be spilled about-
For what goes in is what comes out.

My heart is filled with love and care,
So all that meet me find it there.
And if love is deserved or not-
I have to give them what I’ve got.

With this in mind I’ve wondered why
So many people pass me by,
And as I watch them crash and burn
I wonder if they’ll ever learn.

Perhaps they know the love in me
Is just the love that ought to be,
But bored by my old fashioned charm
They choose someone to bring them harm.

Domestic violence, nine one one-
Instead of silly harmless fun.
The hardest part of letting go
Is they will reap just what they sew.

So many who I would adore
Don’t know what they are looking for.
“I told you so” is not my plan,
But why pass up a loving man?

I’m grateful if they stay in touch
Because I love them very much.
But don’t complain you’re treated bad
To this deep love you could have had.

John, this is an amazine tribute, not just to yourself, but to all who have climbed out of that mental rut of being treated bad. The simplicity and the honesty in the well rhymed piece hits home.... thank you for sharing this.... stay strong...

..the rhythm & rhyme is perfect...so are the light-filled words..methinks women tend to forget what they desire in a partner thus they choose the one furthest from their dream-love..why is that?..Perhaps they've been watching too many movies...
The woman who wins your love will be very fortunate indeed...guys like YOU don't come 'round too often...Bless you John!!..and DON'T change...just give that love and watch miracles happen...

John,

Awwwww, I love honey! Geesh, this is another (!) write I connect with. An expression I've been known to make is this: "I have so much love to give, but no one's anxious for this prescription I have to offer."

You touch me with every write, John.

One day someone's going to realize the treasure that's in you...
Wonderful expression and flow of words...
