Stress Echo Cardiogram

I ran the treadmill with my body wired.
My cardiologist concerned for me
Studied the monitors while I perspired
To find the cause of an anomaly.

It could be scary, but I felt so well,
Like being different isn’t being wrong.
And all of this equipment just can’t tell
When someone’s heart is beating out a song.

I felt like I could run like that all day
And maybe even wear out their machine.
So something’s different, yes, but who’s to say
What all those lines and wiggles really mean?

An EKG was different than before.
They wondered what had caused that to occur.
But I knew then and will forever more
What changed my heart, and sure enough- it’s her.
