People make a springtime out of lights
With countless blooms to decorate the nights.
A vast array of brightly colored flowers
Adorn the landscape traveled after hours.
I may not have the needed extra cash
To make it to a single Christmas bash,
But I won’t let such cares oppress or harden
My heart, when all the world is made a garden.
I’ll revel in the beauty I can see,
And messages sent out for you and me,
And all with just the sense to look around
At all the wonder waiting to be found.
The blooms are coming earlier each year,
A welcome gift for Santa and his deer,
And children who anticipate with dreams
Much more than just these brightly colored beams.
For me the gift of Christmas will be Spring-
The wondrous lights like heaven’s offering.
By Christmas blessed if for no other reason
Than all the blooms created by this season.
What a wonderful write, John. Thanks for (re)warming my heart.

John: Xmas comes 365 days a year. I like the sentiments you've expressed here. I wish Xmas was in the Spring. Spring is my favorite season--all those birdies singing and everything like that.
Beautiful poem, John. We have alot to be thankful for. Like you, I don't have the xtra cash this year , but I remember the true meaning of Christmas. I'm trying to count my blessings instead of my sorrows. This lovely poem helped me do that.
A splendid poem with an excellent message of optimism and faith which I hope we all can catch! (or match;-)

Beautiful thoughts on the lights of Christmas. I too enjoy them and look at them ever chance I get. I can't drive at night, and things are tight, so this year I will be walking at night in my neighourhood, enjoying the beauty that everyone is sharing. Thank you for such a great sharing.
