Here in the UK it is National Poetry Day, but it is disappointingly low key. One of the ideas is to get children to read and understand poetry in the right way from an early age. Here is my contribution (with apologies to Theodor Seuss Geisler).

Parrot talk
Lion roar
Elephant walk
Snake slither
Sloth slow
Fishy swish
To and fro
Crocodile smile
Leopard leap
Tiger stripe
Caterpillar creep
Panda shy
Monkey tree
Fish swish
To the sea
Eagle eye
Camel hump
Chameleon watch
Kangaroo jump
Jungle drum
Cricket loud
