Poem Artwork

Words slip silent as tears
from my eyes
This expression, as embers
within a dying fire.
I blow fiercely upon the coals
and watch them for a moment
burn red and hot
and yet it's not enough
I cannot capture the essence
of this love I have for you
nor hope to render
adequately its depth.
The scope of it too vast
for me to fathom
or explain
I am both an observer
and a participant -
A squealing child
on a funfair ride
A perfect morning dew drop
in a graceful fall from a leaf
I am a cloud adrift
in a sky streaked with colours
and vivid hues
of reds, pinks and blues
In the face of such beauty
I can only hold my breath
in wonderment
Clasp my hands upon my breast
and sigh
All else I've felt before you
has been a lie...

Of all the lines in this magnificent ode, these strike me as the epitomy of your love, Chanti:

"A perfect morning dew drop
in a graceful fall from a leaf"

With these lines, you've combined water and growth with such entwined adoration, this reader aches with the want of what you have, even as it deems it yours without condemnation.

A beauty of a divine collaboration between mind and soul.

Oh.
My.
God.

This gave me goosebumps and brought tears to my eyes, my friend. If only I could express my love as well. You inspire me.

Love you (and miss you) lots,
Tami

Oh love is so intensely unbelievable when it is young and you have captured the wonder and magic of it so well.

'All else I've felt before you

Those words say a lot, Chanti.

You are fortunate that your love can be returned. There are those of us who feel as you do but cannot be fulfilled due to circumstances and societal pressures etc. Be well and happy.
