Crossroads

We each walk the crossroads of life’s path,

and in an instant we must choose our way,

for taking the wrong turn we feel the wrath,

now it’s how we spend each and every day.

It is a dangerous journey beyond compare,

none of us know which way we should go,

some paths never cross others we do share,

traveling down the highway’s natural flow.

Minds wandering endlessly without reason,

seeking adventurous pleasure we can find,

but life changes with each coming season,

before you know it you’ve run out of time.

Captivated moments spent chasing the sun,

gone with each sunset fading into the past,

moments recalled of things that were fun,

sadly fade into the memories never to last.

Forever changing crossroads where we live,

what is, and what is not, never gone before,

choosing the high road or low road we give,

never hearing the loud knock upon our door.

such a good and well done write-reminds me of the metaphoric qualities of Pilgrims Progress a bit, the way we journey through life

Sam, no, we never know what our correct path is suppose to be...if we do choose the wrong path, our lives can be stolen in a flash. Captivating life to the fullest is what we all need to do because life is fleeting. I truly enjoyed this Sam...it made me sit & think about the many years I've lived & did I live it to the fullest.

Future: The Spiritual Story of Humanity by Glenn Martin

Histories of the world are generally written to either celebrate technology and science, or to herald doom. My book examines the path of the spirit in the onward rush.
