Flowers and Weeds
In the dawning of the morning light,
with each new day we face our fears,
the reality of life’s struggle in sight,
strong or weak we all shed some tears.
Our life is a stage upon which we act,
playing roles of reality and romance,
showing our talent and what we lack,
each performance impromptu by chance.
No retakes only one show forever cast,
dance to adventure all rolled into one,
some short, others long never to last,
until the end never knowing if you won.
Life is an adventure cast upon the stage,
filled with excitement, sorrow, and pain,
where inner conflict are constantly waged,
though the sunshine and the pouring rain.
We each choose the destiny we shall live,
our thoughts and desires, actions and deeds,
alone we decide what to take and what to give,
whether we grow to a flower or become a weed.
