Real or Just an Illusion?

Spirits dance upon the night wind,
in this lonely world of begotten time,
where thoughts linger of passing kin,
drifting on a ghost ship in our mind.

Those loved ones who now are gone,
there lives on earth have come to pass,
yet within our hearts we forever long,
to dust, nothing of earth is made to last.

Sadness consumes our mortal soul,
as we try to survive each new day,
death and destruction takes it’s toll,
reality of which it’s the human way.

Memories fade with the passing night,
as we pray to God in the heavens above,
the morning sun brings a brand new light,
filled with struggles, survival and love.

Love and emotion instills a burning desire,
trying to endure while filled with confusion,
conflicts of love and hate burn in time’s fire,
as we question whether it’s real or an illusion.
