Wonder and Doubt Lingers


In a world consumed with meaningless deeds,
we each wander alone, bewildered and afraid,
not understanding differences, desire or needs,
shadows disappear upon the path with the rain.

Simplicity of life complicated by mortal want,
as a pebble breaks the stillness of a placid lake,
greed and lust infused in spirit seems to haunt,
we strive, never learning till it becomes too late.

Our lives stimulated by our own internal fire,
of what is, is not, or can someday, come to be,
motivated by human greed and lustful desire,
happiness can not be obtained until one’s free.

Moments of splendor upon the lust green grass,
grey skies turn to an emblem shade of deep blue,
secrets bestowed of memories that come to pass,
lies and deception, to feelings of honesty so true .

Simple mindlessness embraced in a revolving time,
shelter’s our own identity lost in utter confusion,
wonder and doubt forever lingering in our mind,
for we will never know what is real or an illusion.
