Mixed with Confusion

In the land of yesterday’s fears,
traveling to arrive at tomorrow,
enjoying the happiness and cheer,
leaving behind woes and sorrows.

Cherished moments from the past,
gives us strength we often do need,
knowing today’s plight will not last,
we pray the Lord will hear our plead.

Life is a journey beyond all compare,
over the peaks into the valley we go,
walking all alone, it can not be shared,
in the darkness, little we really know.

Surviving the happenstance of the day,
mold and shapes the attitudes we feel,
always moving forward to find the way,
essence of life, passing time will steal.

In the shadows of who knows where,
living in the mist of our own illusions,
merely trying to get from here to there,
lost in memories mixed with confusion.
