Plateau of Dreams


Sounds of night echoed in the hall,
tossing and turning unable to sleep,
as shadows dance appearing so tall,
mysteries of the unknown we keep.

Reality turns to our forgetful dreams,
mindful thoughts focus on illusions,
earthly desires festering our schemes,
images flashing lost in utter confusion.

Ones’ life and death suspended in time,
pondering what is and what might be,
vivid sounds, images within our mind,
make believe, yet , so real only to flee.

Creative plateau of the living and dead,
links happiness and sadness we shared,
the past, the present, and future to wed,
things discovered for which we cared.

A journey begotten devoured by emotion,
flourishing by the darkness of any night,
filled with anger, love, and true devotion,
ever so placid, raged by our inner fright.
