A poem for my boyfriend Bill, without whom I do not know if I'd be here. He is my friend and protector, a truly wonderful human being who is a Good Samaritan. He loved me when I was not pretty to look at and my situation was bleak and saw potential when others had thrown me away and left me for dead. I love you, Bill!
I am alone.
But not alone.
Your warmth and love, they stay here in this bed, long after you have gone.
You move me,
beyond the pain,
beyond the fear,
to be.
something I have not been before.
I am brave.
I am fierce.
I love.
I care.
I think.
I pray.
More deeply than before you.
With more devotion I seek good,
safety,
not just for my own being but for those.
And deep in the soul of who I am,
I love you.
There is peace.
You make me the person I was always meant to be.
You give me the frame,
to reach beyond myself.
Goodnight my love.
It will be morning soon.
And we will complete this Journey to its very end,
together.

will secure me.
