Reindeer and I wrote this poem together today. We were talking about how busy we are these days and decided to write about it. I hope that you all enjoy and can relate to our concern for today.
What ever happen to time and the good ole days?
When life was like a wind chime resonating beautifully through life's maze
When was the last time you pause to feel the rain fall gently on your face?
What happened to days when we enjoyed family dinners after saying grace?
What ever happen to time and days of relaxation?
I just continue to find myself in an abyss lost in frustration.
I find myself wondering; what was the point of my creation?
Why do I exist at all? if I don't have time to hear the eagle's call...
What ever happen to time and family togetherness?
I find myself working more and seeing family less
Where did the time go? I need to feel love again! My life seems such a mess,
I want time to play in the snow, time to wipe away your tears and show you just how much you mean to me...
What ever happen to time and those fun filled weekends?
I find myself working at home ignoring traveling options with my friends
Is this then, the new trend, to work so hard yet have nothing to show?
For all the time spent so far from home, to live a life feeling so utterly alone?
The only good work is worth these days is merely paying the bills
Going out and watching your kids play sports are short-term thrills
No time for family, no time for friends, no time to breathe
Just time to rush, miss out, be bitter, and go home lethargic
My love, come and lay on the sweet grass with me,
together let us remember when we had time for each other,
I want to look at you, not as a mother, not even as a wife,
I want to see you as the one I chose to share my life...

Your work shows us the realities of what many of us are or have been going through within this fast paced society...a wonder we have time at all, nice work on expressing this thought through poetry...
With all the latest inventions to make life easier, it's only taking away more of the details we need to make our lives more passionate. We're becoming numb to our surroundings and experiencing the little things with less time. Thanks for your wrisom here. If we don't smell the flowers, after a while ,we won't know what our sense of smell is for anymore.Thank you!

This is a gorgeous and seamless collaboration and it really strikes a note with me about how life really has become these days. My time is so restricted that when I have any at all, I choose to spend it alone, catching up on my quiet time and taking a few moments to be a little introspective. It seems that although I never would have believed that I wanted to live a solitary life, that I am living one just the same.

This poem is so beautiful and so very true. Let's take the time to do the things in life we want to do. Where are our priorities? Family should always come first, no matter what.
