When you died my life fell apart
how could anyone mend my heart
Nothing seemed to be real anymore
of life I was no longer sure
I longed for someone to understand
for someone to give a helping hand
But no one could understand the pain
and I wondered, was I going insane
Remember the good times I was told
onto these you should always hold
But that would always start me crying
and my eyes always needed drying
I longed to have one more day with you
to tell you how much my love was true
the world just carried on passing by
but I needed time out to say goodbye

I pray that you find peace and growth from such love, a love that many never find.
Be gentle with yourself.
I can relate to this poem. About four years ago my daughter lost her soulmate. She was devasted. Now today, thank God, she has found a wonderful man and has just gotten married. I have to say life does go on. But...everyone that loses a loved one never ever forgets them..
Blessings to you for this sensitive poem. Welcome to the Den!
Peace, love and light,
Amber
I enjoyed your write. Baz, I think that one way of dealing with grief is writing about it. I know you are going through some rough times. Things will get better but just keep this in mind, you will never get over the grief of someone you cared about nor would you want to. You will just learn to deal with it in a different way.
