Thirteen years ago today

On April 13, 1993

We vowed our eternal love

That still binds you and me

It was a tiny wedding chapel

On the shores of Lake Tahoe

We excitedly drove up there

From romantic San Francisco

It was a private wedding

Without very much fanfare

For both of us a second marriage

It was our biggest gamble and dare

And what a romantic place

We danced the night away

Being there with you at my side

Still seems to me like yesterday

We also placed several bets

On the casino’s roulette wheel

And every time our 13 came up

We both laughed with such zeal

Thirteen has proven to be very lucky

We’ve grown much closer in 13 years

We’ve seldom had any disagreements

We’ve shared far more joy than tears

We made ourselves a happy home

We’ve traveled together quite a bit

And although I still bring you orphans

You’ve never once had a nasty hissy fit

I hope and pray for at least 13 more years

You truly have blessed and enriched my life

I often fondly think of that lovely Lake Tahoe shore

And of that truly wondrous day you became my wife

Happy 13^th Anniversary, Sweetie

And May We Have at Least 13 More

Thirteen truly is our very lucky number
