“I’m Telling Mom!”

Big Ed Matlack

Three simple every day words

That I have hated since childhood

And my wish for over fifty long years

To delete them from my mind if I could

Three simple every day words

Still my brother’s biggest delight

Three simple every day words

Still haunting my sleep every night

Three simple every day words

Still uttered by a 300 lb. snitch

Three simple every day words

Still making me sweat and twitch

Three simple every day words

Still loved by a Momma’s Boy

Three simple every day words

That rob me of all my fun and joy

I doubt I’ve made it through one day

Without these words tormenting me

Just three simple every day words

Which still bring me such misery

And now that he has spouted them once again

I’ve gotten twenty phone calls from our mother

“Little Ed, just how many times must I tell you,

You had better stop picking on your brother!”

So I guess that my Big Cry Baby Brother Ed

Has once again gotten what he craves the most

Since dear old Mom is now monitoring my poems

I guess this will be the last of my brotherly roasts

Those three very simple every day words

That I have truly hated since my childhood

And my fervent wish for over fifty long years

To delete them from my mind - if only I could

PS He still wears those blue jammies,

And he still sleeps with that rubber duck.

Mother gave it to him,

On his first birthday.

And yes,

Out of respect for Mom,

I still wear that old Tutu

Whenever  I visit her.

She always wanted

A ballerina in the family.

(((Ed))),

Those three little words were common in my family, too...but I was usually the one yelling them! :) Did mom believe me? Oh, noooooooo...I got in my share of trouble, yes I did. A fantastic series this is, you and your bigger brother Ed are geniuses for collaborating and building on the humor bone!

(((HUGS))) and love, your little sis, Karla. :)

Just looking at the pic started me laughing, and it didn't end 'til "...ballerina in the family." To be honest, I'm still laughing! Witty, witty, L'il Ed.
