The Times They Are a Changin’

Many scientists are now saying that

2007 could be our warmest ever year

Our Mother Earth is definitely changing

Is it now time for our rejoicing or our fear?

Many plants already blooming

Many birds are not migrating

Northern ponds aren’t freezing

Many bears aren’t hibernating

People are strolling in Central Park

In January in only their shirt sleeves

For a new year’s winter that’s just began

All of these things are very hard to believe

Many still scoff at Global Warming

Some say we should blame EL NIÑO

But we should all take heed of the signs

Since the ice is melting at the earth’s poles

Is this just a fluke of nature’s whim

Or perhaps a sign of the End of Days

I guess we should enjoy it while we can

But we should also think ponder and pray

If this is purely a natural phenomenon

Mother Earth herself will right the wrong

But if it has been caused by man’s stupidity

We’ve probably already waited far too long
