“There Can Be Only One – Ancient Ed.

(Or Actually Two, If You Read the Very Fine Print.)”

An Excerpt From The Ancient Book of Ed

It seems like we have been gathered here, Forever Now,

Still awaiting the very epic start to this most epic ‘Ed’ war;

They all just up and deserted us, as Rufuz said they would,

I had never seen my brother, Jersey Devil, so down before

He had been psyching himself up for an extremely fierce battle

He couldn’t believe all the ‘Eds’ that had arrived here at Ed Isle

And now, every last one of those ‘Ed’ characters, had vanished

I knew today, it would be extremely tough to make my Bro smile

“Hey, Pee Wee!  Wanna have some lunch before we start fightin?

Looks like it’s just you and me – Again.”

“Uh, OK, Brother.  Wanna eat on your ship or mine?”

“Come over to the Devil, I gotta tell ya somethin while we eat!”

Our lunch was exceedingly cordial and pleasant for a change,

The Jersey Devil served some elegant Wine and T-Bone Steaks;

“Where the hell did you get the money for all of this, Jersey Ed?”

He laughed devilishly and said, “Tiger Lily made a Big Mistake!”

“She was in such an awful danged hurry to run off to St. Croix,

I switched the treasure chest where she was hidin all our loot;

I surely wish that I could be there when she opens it up,

Now that is gonna be one real Dog Gone Blasted Hoot!”

“You truly are a Devil, Bro.”

“Yeah, I Know!

And I’m given you Half!

It was your Villa in Capri, after all!”

“Why, Thanks!”

 “And now, should we tell everybody how this Story Really Ends?

And what we really found on this island a few years ago, Pee Wee?”

“NAH!  The Hell With It!”

“You’re a Damned Devil, too, Pee Wee Ed!”

“Yeah, I Know.  We Are Brothers, After All.

“And let’s just stick to fightin each other, it’s far less trouble,

And I have far less re-writes to do.”

“OK!  It’s a Deal, Pee Wee!  Wanna Play Some Bingo First?”

“Hell, No!”

“Then You’re a Big Jerk!”

“I never really liked you.”

“I never liked you either.”

“Get off my ship.  Now!”

“You Big, Cry Baby!”

“I’m tellin, Ma!”

“Go Ahead, You Always DO!”

"Ain't" that the way brothers are--never able to agree--always fighting---but what the heck, it keeps things interesing, and beneath all the hullabaloo they know they love each other no matter what.

Hah! Remember ... in life ... there is never a real finale. Somewhere, out there, the opposition is lurking, darkly planning new and nefarious plans and sharing gaunt and ghastly gruesome giggles at your expense. "Vengeance is mine," sayeth the survivors.

"Heh-heh heh-heh heh-heh," sayeth Beevus & Butthead!

Now, if I could just keep this stuffed parrot from falling off my shoulder ... !

We be pirates
Who up and left - onto greener pastures
While we still can ambulate.

Miss you -- Let me check my daytimer - does a battle fit into your schedule next Tuesday or the last Saturday of this month? Those are the only openings I have. (LOL)
