Fourth in the ‘Ed’ Series,

‘When We Ancient Eds Were-’

My Photo Albums Go Back a Long Ways,

And a Fond Memory or Two, They Always Stir

“Climb every mountain, search high and low,

Follow every byway, every path you know;

Climb every mountain, ford every stream,

Follow every rainbow, 'til you find your dream.”

Rodgers and Hammerstein,

Climb Every Mountain

Life had been extremely difficult

For we three ancient Brothers Ed

Since those days as Ed Cavemen

The entire world we would tread

From those holidays as Santa’s Elves

To those grand old days in old Ireland

To those nights on the South Pacific isles

It seemed our epic quest would never end

After we eventually got booted out of Tahiti

We joined a trade caravan, bound for Nepal

Sage Brother Edvard had dreamt another dream

“Maybe We Eds were meant to be Yetis, after all!”

And soon, we found ourselves wandering the Himalayas

My favorite memory is the day we met Sir Edmund Hillary

He, too, was among the noble ancient lineage of Brother Eds

And visiting him at his base camp truly always brought us glee

Sir Edmund delighted in calling us the crazy ‘Eddie Yetis’

And like us, he always had a huge craving for good spaghetti

He said all we ancient Eds had both Oriental and Italian blood

And loved yelling out, “Yo, Eddie Yetis, your Spaghetti is Ready!”

I really miss good old Sir Edmund Hillary, these days

And gazing at this old photo brought back many memories

I think I grew an inch or two eating all that spaghetti in Nepal

And from there, we ancient Eds, would now trek over to Turkey

Maybe next time,

I’ll tell you,

Where Noah’s Ark is.

And Note to Brother Edvard:

I didn’t steal this picture,

Mom gave it to me;

She said,

“I know it’s your favorite, Little Pee Wee.”

this is abominable... Is "Yetis" phonetic for "lettuce" for people with lisps?

Lettuce and spaghetti... One Ed down, gulp... Burp!

I swear some antrophology dept. must be interested in you Guys, and thanks Ed for the too late advice < had I known spagetti can grow you another two inches... well anyway keep it in your pants, and as for Noah's Ark, you stretching it a bit aren't you, but then stranger things have happened on this planet.... keeping a respectful distance... yours truly!
