Fifth in the ‘Ed’ Series,

‘When We Ancient Eds Were-’

My Photo Albums Go Back a Long Ways,

And a Fond Memory or Two, They Always Stir

“Without a shepherd,

Sheep are not a flock.”

An Old Russian Proverb

My next Brother Ed memoir was to be about Noah’s Ark

But my good friend, Steven Spielberg, just contacted me

He’s planning another epic Indiana Jones movie about that

So for now, he’s asked me to keep that adventure in secrecy

Although I’m a tad disappointed, I came across this old photo

It was taken in Australia, I do believe, a very long, long time ago

On the day that we first arrived in that awesome Land Down Under

When Edvard proclaimed, “Now, as Great Sheepherders, We Will Go!”

Alas, it seems we three Eds wandered forever through the Outback

And alas, we only came upon this one very old sheep, that blessed day

But the three of us very diligently watched over that wondrous old critter

And to this very day, I, little Pee Wee Ed, still miss our dear old Bessie May

But all that wandering we did in the Land Down Under

Was extremely beneficial to our brother, Jersey Devil Ed

As you can see in this cherished old photograph of mine

The day we arrived, Jersey had plenty of poundage to shed

And that day while we were wanderin, we found a Dingo pup

He was such a cute little critter, Jersey Ed named him ‘Rufuz’

And since good old Rufuz truly loved peein on old Edvard’s leg

Both Jersey Ed and I insisted this marvelous Dingo travel with us

But, of course, old Brother Edvard was once again disappointed

It seemed The Land Down Under would not provide our destiny

So, it wasn’t very long before we said our good-byes to Australia

And yet, once more, we three Eds were sailin away, on the High Sea

You look a bit sheepish there little Ed for making up these lies, you watch Edvard does'nt give you a couple of wacks on your behind, you making out to be a teenager now and thems about hundred and fifty, judging by the travelling you did, ha, Bless you!

Those Three ED's of Orient Are -
Searchin' High and Low to find their Star.
Here and There, and often Afar -
Smokin' Weed, or a-Boozin' in a Bar!
Sippin' White Lightnin from an Old Fruit Jar -
What is their Stock? Definitely Non-Par!

ARRRR ... ARRRR ... ARRRR ... Maties!

PeeWee, I wish you make up you dumb picking cotton mind, one day you throw us to freeze our asses in Tibet as Yetis and now you are pushing us "down there" with the smelly always complainin' sheep.
I will rat you to Mom.

Australia; Where men are men and the sheep are scared!!

I once had a dingo,
his name was dongo;
I trained him to play the bongo,
but I never could train him to sing-o.

I love the way your mind thinks - it's very refreshing. Looking forward to more in the series. Bessie May's needing a shearing...then you'll have wool for sweaters to keep Pee Wee warm:-)
