The most important dog in my life died in his sleep at the age of 16 in the front yard he loved the best knowing the ones he loved the best were all around--a better death than some of the investment bankers may have when they come face to face with their creator. Many people bought pets for their children this holiday season, then in a few months they will dump them in shelters too! When many do buy pets, they want the registered "In Style " pets be able to say, I have one of those! Perfection in pets and in people seems to be "In Style" and the angels cry.

"We" just bailed-out the people that lost all our money in that pyramid game of theirs, and for what? so they can build another pyramid to con again the suckers into departing with the money they don't have.
Shouldn't we emty the prisons of those misfortunate with petty pecadilloes and set in the big ones cronies of the Hill?
Absolutely disgusting how they are slaves of Mammon.

Foreclosure is not only hard on people but pets too. And that is terrible. But people have to be protective of their own interests: I sold my house to avoid foreclosure "ahead of the curve" and downsized just in time; now my pet(s) and I have a home even if small.
I sometimes think people give up their animals too fast; I would take my pet to a relatives or sell my music equipment before I'd give up my dear companion pet...but then I don't have kids to worry about

I too wondered about what they will do,as I saw a documentary on a lot of animal shelters having to close! God be with them all,until hopefully things will get better!

Hard enough, it is, to live me & Ruffie in this beast of a fiberglass cave...maybe if Rufuz gets rid of me, he can take in another doggie, though a cat once a week would be enough for Rufuz to eat, we wouldn't need dog food then...LOL, ;-)

If we could have a cat, we'd take a cat in, no question. But of course, the owner is prejudiced against cats; you can have birds, fish, or now dogs (as long as they're small), but still...I don't think it's fair!! What can we do to have the rules changed, or who can we contact about this???? Let me know ASAP!!

Heartbreaking write! And you are so right: you CAN find a loving pet at a shelter. That's where I got my Maine Coon, "Cajun", or where "Cajun" got me. It was instant love, at first sight!! She was the best pet!!

With the economy worsening, it's either the house or the pet: sadly, many times, the house wins out. :( Sad one today, Ed, well penned.
