Old Brother Jersey Ed

The Ed Family Reunion was now over
It was time for us old Eds, to move along
My two Ed brothers looked so danged sad
I couldn’t even get them to sing the Ed Song
Our time with Sister Tiger Lily Ed had ended
The High Lonesome Ed Trail, was now a callin
My brothers felt real awful in their hearts and souls
But I knew we had to get goin, or they’d start a ballin
“Now snap out of it, you two old Ed desperados,
We’ll be a seein Tiger Lily Ed agin, some day;
But we had best get movin along now, brothers,
You know the law will soon be a headin our way.”
“Now just give us a minute or two, Pee Wee,
Tiger Lily was as nice to us, as dear old Ma;
And stayin here, and usin her brand new terlit,
Was a better than stayin, at any fancy new spa.”
“You’re right, Jersey,” I tried to console him
“I’m also gonna miss our sis, and this place;
But she gave us her mule, old Edwina Belle,
Just take a look at this sweet old mule’s face.”
“Now that’s just like our brother Pee Wee,” old Edvard chimed in
“Sometimes, I think he likes all these critters, better than us, Jersey;
Well, let’s get goin Ed brothers, it’s a long hard climb to El Dorado,
But one day, we’ll get to see Tiger Lily Ed agin, just you wait and see.”
‘So Long, Dear Tiger Lily Ed, So Long,’
She heard us Ed boys, in the western wind;
And Tiger Lily Ed, she shed a tear or two, too,
She had that new terlit, all to herself, once agin.
