Tabloid News Article…
Some very strange sightings
Off the old New Jersey shore
Is this a man or a sea creature
Or some mythical being of lore
Reports from adults on the shore
Sightings by many small children
Ship captains have seen this, too
These sightings, now have no end
It’s some sort of oceanic dweller
With barnacles, on its huge head
Could it be an octopus or a whale
Or a being called ‘Jersey Devil Ed’
Could this be an evolutionary mutation
Like those characters, depicted in X-Men
Or, could this truly be an unknown species
That had lived in the deep, and did ascend
Or, could it be an old sea-faring ghost
Like those in Pirates of the Caribbean
Its eerie image, now captivates so many
In the light of the moon’s illuminating sheen
Whatever this very strange creature is
It now seems to be feeding, near shore
And now, since sightings have increased
People are flocking here, more and more
And the very strangest part of this strange tale
Is that a brown dog has been seen, on the beach
They say this dog seems to be keeping an eye on it
As it feeds on crabs and sea urchins, just out of reach
A huge reward has just been posted
By one of the Atlantic City Casinos
Anyone who captures this strange being
Has now been promised a fortune in gold
I’m Betting On The Dog;
I Bet He Lures It In,
With a Milkbone.
