Comments On My Poem,

Frosty, The Pumpkin:

“Old Frosty is probably frozen,

And will be with you, until Spring!”

A.D. Member La Belle Rouge

“Hmmm, must be the genetically engineered preservatives.

La Belle is right though, ole frozen Frosty might be around a spell.

You could make a pumpkin headed snow man!”

A.D. Member Patrick Granfors

The First Snow was really magical

But a few days later, Second Snow

And this one, brought Arctic Winds

And a Wind Chill Factor, of 20 Below

My five canines still wanted to go outside

But I wasn’t as enthused, this Second Snow

I donned long johns, parka, and insulated boots

And now, we all ventured out, into Twenty Below

My five mutts took care of business, extremely fast

And before I knew it, all five quickly raced back inside

I stood there, surveying this frozen, Twenty Below World

Gazing at Frosty The Pumpkin who was still smiling with pride

I had taken Patrick’s extremely sage advice

I had fashioned old Frosty, into a Snowman

And there he now stood, out in Twenty Below

Still smiling, and looking so magnificently grand

“Better you than me, my dear old frozen friend, Frosty,

I think that I’m just gonna head back on inside, for awhile.”

“Not before you shovel all the walks and the driveway, Pee Wee!”

Mean Tall Woman had quickly robbed me of my Twenty Below smile

And now, as my entire body was very quickly turning to ice

I noticed both good old Frosty, and my mutts in the windows

They were all laughing at me, with demonic smiles on their faces

As they all now watched me shoveling snow, out in Twenty Below

Great looking snowman. I thought you were going to throw the shovel out! Like the tune. I have some lyrics to it that I wrote years ago, called the Bessie song, (it's about a cow). Maybe I'll ressurect them and post. Patrick

A good and "kool" Write Ed
That's why I moved south
No more shoveling snow,
I did my time in "Frozen Hell"
and If I were there I too would be sitting
next to your mutts laughing at you too
"it's spring time in Alaska, Its 40 below"
Peace be with you Ed

William

PEEWEE -

You, my Friend, remind me of the title of an old PLATTERS song - "ONLY YOU!"

FROSTY - the Pumpkin evolves into FROSTY the Santa, then -
he is morphed into FROSTY the Pumpkin-Headed Snowman -
then, he and the Mutts LAUGH at the 20 Below Frigid Shoveler -
whom Mean Tall Woman COMMANDS so well - BUT -
as a loving, caring, nurturing, sympathetic SPICE just MUST have -
subsequently WARMED you up with BODY HEAT -
Close Encounters of the NICEST Kind -
and then - ONLY YOU - just MUST have had ...
THE LAST LAUGH!

P.S. that's not counting her Giggling at your ...
peeeeeee-weeeeeee manhood !!!

Can't wait for the Sequel -
FROSTY - the Spring Thawed Automatic BIRD-FEEDER !!!

FELIZ NAVIDAD Y PROSPERO ANO FELIZIDADES! TK.

It was so cold here yesterday and I had no reason to leave the house. That 20 below is terrible -- even for my dogs.

What an adorable write, Ed. It's a pretty good windchill here in Atlantic Canada today too. But it sure is pretty. Loved this poem.

That's one of the things I don't miss much about Connecticut...the snow...although it sure is beautiful at Christmas or for taking a walk in if you don't HAVE to be out in it. Nice write, Ed, and try to stay warm!
