-The Sad State of Our Holiday, Today-
He jumped out of bed at dawn on Sunday
It was after all America’s ‘Independence Day’
He had to rush out and purchase some more items
For his family’s gala Fourth of July Celebration today
“Don’t forget to pick up DIAL Soap!” his wife yelled out
“And, all the kids are craving some GOOD HUMOR Bars!
We also need mustard, and you better buy some more beer!”
As he rushed off, he noticed he needed gas, he wouldn’t get far
He quickly decided to pass up the BP gas station nearest his home
Since British Petroleum was responsible for America’s Oil Disaster
So he drove all the way to the other side of town, to the SHELL station
But now he was running extremely late, so he’d have to shop much faster
Luckily, he soon spotted a 7-11 Convenience Store on that side of town
So, he rushed in to buy DIAL, GOOD HUMOR BARS, and BUD Beer
As he paid for his purchases, he remembered to buy FRENCH’s Mustard
Now, he rushed back on home, to celebrate U.S. Independence Day Cheer
And soon, he and his family, friends, and neighbors, were all in his backyard
Enjoying hot dogs and ice cream, and celebrating the Fourth, with ice-cold BUD
And as darkness descended on this very typical, festive Fourth of July celebration
He proudly shot off some sky rockets, lighting up the night with a boom and a thud
But alas, neither he, nor his family, nor his celebrating neighbors, even had a tiny clue
That none of the places he shopped, nor any of the items he purchased were ‘American’
Although we as a nation all love to celebrate our freedom and independence, on this day
We as a nation, now patronize foreign owned businesses, and buy their items, without end
SHELL OIL is a Dutch Owned Company
The 7-11 Corporation is Japanese Owned
DIAL SOAP is made by a German Firm
GOOD HUMOR Ice Cream – British/Dutch
French’s Mustard – is also a British Owned Co.
Good old ‘American Budweiser’ – Belgian Owned
And, of course, the Fireworks that they so proudly watched,
To Celebrate Our Independence Day, Were All Made in China.
The Good Old Fourth of July,
Just Ain’t What It Used To Be;
So Many American Companies,
Now Gone, From Sea to Oily Sea

This is such a commentary. One day I went around looking at the products in my house...not one was made in the U.S.A. How sad to go around the other side of town to your things. Things was excellent and tells and unfortuante story.
