Inspired By My Dogs,

Having Fun In The Snow

“If the sight of the blue sky fills you with joy,

If a blade of grass springing up in a field

Has the power to move you,

If the simple things of life

Have a message that you understand,

Rejoice – for your soul is still alive.”

Eleanora Duse

As I journey on through my life

I find the simple things, the best

Modern gadgets, do not entice me

The simple things, fill me with zest

Watching my dogs wrestle in the snow

Watching my cats play with an old box

Star-gazing, stoking a blazing campfire

Following the tracks of a cunning old fox

Observing an osprey, fishing out on a lake

Watching two sparrows, building their nest

Gazing upon a field, filled with wildflowers

It is life’s simple things, which I love the best

A glorious sunrise, over a life-giving marshland

A wondrous serenade, by songbirds in the wood

Observing life, along a muddy riverbank at dawn

These simple things of nature, make me feel good

The mystical magical yodel of a loon to its mate

The howl of an old timber wolf in the moonlight

A flock of geese soaring high in the morning sky

All these things of nature, still fill me with delight

Today our young, and most modern day adults

Seem to be lost, without their modern day toys

I’d rather spend my time reveling in nature’s gifts

I’ve discovered simple things, give me the most joy

simple things do it best;
what we covet may be a false nature at work

with you all the way on this one, Ed

Ed, Nature provides us with so many pictures and one never tires of what nature shows us everyday.

Always,

And unless you grow up in rural America, you don't get to observe nature close-up and personal with lawn care being done by a service and the closest you get to an animal is a pet bought in a pet store.

Yes, it's the simpler things in life that are important and we must teach our children that, whether we live in the city or not.

...And simple things cost less but last so much longer.

What a most profound understanding of life you have, and so worthwhile, to hear from you, and all those wonderful beings, that still know what is treasure, and not what is junk. The toys today might be rich in amusement, but as far as I am concerned they are for simpletons that regard life with such shallow depths. Bless ya!

The simple things are the most fulfilling
and most beautiful...

Thank you for the lovely picture you have
given us of your babies, they are just precious...
Such a smile has crossed my face to see them at play...
You have given us so many visuals in this wonderful poem
about the beauty of nature and your beloved little angels...

Thank you

Love and Light

How true your words. We are rapidly becoming a mechanical species, opting to immerse ourselves in technological advancement many times at the expense of the simple rewards you write of here. Thank you for the reminder.

The dog in the middle looks like a shephard puppy, so cute to watch puppies play...I am also glad to see you shoveled ur walk, as just the other day Ma was saying how you don't come over and shovel HER walk anymore...she says you keep telling her that she shouldn't go out anyway...what a mean son you've turned out to be...Ed
