How annnoying.

These things ceased to function.

The washer, with a clatter,

refused to agitate.

(faithful 12 years)

Garbage disposal

wheezes an anemic buzz,

but no blades turn. 

(about 3 years old)

The blender's bent blades

Won't even wisk a banana.

Coffee maker knob fell off,

shooting sparks.

(2 years of service)

My car battery

died silently

painlessly

one day while I was

at work.  I never knew her

life was slipping away.

Didn't even play my

radio one last time.

And lastly, my

friend's marriage,

patched for years and

chugging away,

finally breathed its last.

Now, you can't

find a store

to replace that

quickly and cheaply.
