Taste Of Insanity

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

Monday, March 29, 2004

Have you ever tasted the insanity

that lies thick like death upon my lips?

Or endeavored to understand the darkness

that is revealed from my Freudian slips?

Will you stand your watch in the night from a lofty pedestal on high,

and listen to the deranged voices of your demons as they cry?

Or shall you in a vain attempt, or try to destroy all that is true ,

with your impudent… nothing to live for  lies?

For you see, I have seen the likes of you… and your kind.

You spill forth your meaningless drivel of false concern,

in a corrupt and perverse desire to forever shine.

For your heart is that of a serpent’s, and your words are malevolent dung.

And the shadows that chase your memories,

will capture your soul with the approach of the setting sun.

So I will ask you this, and just this once, turn it hence…

Have you ever tasted my; insanity on your lying lips?

Its true Allen, there is insanity, and then again, there is insanity, and what I meant to say is yes I understand the insanity with which you speak, so either we're insane or well, LOL, but I would take your brand of insanity, ty An interesting characterization you do include for us here, rather blows me away, ty al
